Now, I know I'm often caught sleeping in class or lecture... and there are pics of many of us sleeping as well on this blog! So what I'll be posting won't really be very unusual... or will it?

This is the latest sleeper. Caught snoozing during Physics lecture. Looks familiar?

That's all I have to say, short post. Good luck for promos everyone!

MAF was wonderful. <3 to council for putting in so much hard work. it's sad that people can't spare a few hours to come down, even though the council put so much effort into preparing for it. almost every day of the holidays, from early in the morning to night, doing everything from creative work to boring saigang. (and that's the same council that has to take the promos together with us, most of them hardly have had the time to start mugging yet). the least we could do is to come down and appreciate what they have put up.

life in college is only 2 years, and MAF is the biggest event on the calendar. it's really a waste to not go for something like this.

if everyone thinks for himself,
no one else is going, why should I go?
in the end they don't go.

happened for plenty of "class outings" and other initiatives like JTS.
people put in effort to plan the thing, what right do we have to think
I didn't put in the effort
so why should I go?

not blaming people who really can't make it at those times, but we often mistake inconvenience as an excuse to not go.

and yet as far as I know,
jiada
adeline
limyi
siowkee
shumin
amanda
michelle
lerong
guoqi
marcus
kenneth
gavin
me!
tingwei
ashley
peiwen
weiguo
seng

were there at MAF (sorry if I missed anyone)

so actually lots of people attended, but the whole class was never together at any point.

we should be like our senior class 06s63. they got almost the whole class together, and they stuck together. maf for them was like a class outing, not one where people attend individually and act not as a class but as strangers and visitors.

lots of time has passed since the beginning of the year, when everything felt like a fresh start. cliques formed, people formed opinions about each other, and the optimism that was so present at the beginning has reduced to a bland cynicism.

I really hate to see the class anything less than it could be; 25 people
who can ignore their differences
who are willing to make sacrifices to appreciate each other
who will continually hold hope for the state of the class.
which is s6f: where the <3 is.

Someone broke the folding table in the auditorium during econs lecture!

Guess who?
(it's not Jeremy)

On a side note, studying in the high school library is really very nice and you all should go there to mug.

Army open house highlights:

- Took only 50 minutes to get there from BTP, all in air-con comfort in nearly-empty buses. So much for Jurong being far away...

- Free. The only money we spent was to buy canned drinks. We even came back with goodies.

- Firing at the range. I got a sniper rifle (2 shots only, but shooting down a sniper scope is fun), Shuyuan got a GPMG (general-purpose machine gun, the recoil was so big he couldn't aim it so he just went trigger happy on it), Jeremy got a SAW (even he can't explain clearly what he did), and Jiada got a SOUNDLESS RECOILLESS anti-tank weapon that just made a light click when he pulled the trigger

- Laser tag with actual SAR21 rifles loaded with blanks. Jiada TKed Jeremy. Shuyuan got a high on firing shots just so he could hear the brass casings plink against the metal drum next to him.

- Military washing machine and dryer... WTF

- Pictures of RED CROSS!

- Night ride out on a 5-tonner truck. As can be seen from the videos, we got to see (but mostly hear) live firing out on the range. The one thing that made the whole trip most worthwhile.

Okay, first a disclaimer. All these videos were shot using a crappy handphone camera. So, you don't really see much, but you still get to see some stuff. And the sounds are pretty fun too, so think of these a visually augmented audio files rather than videos.

Video of Primus Artillery Piece firing and someone saying "Holy S**t"!

Video of SM1 tank firing its 75mm main gun, followed by juvenile cries of delight from Jiada and I, followed by a Bionix AFV being really trigger happy on its 30mm autocannon and a Light Strike Vehicle firing its relatively wussy General Purpose Machine Gun. The BAMBAMBAM is the 30mm, and the RATATATATAT is the GPMG.

THE END!

Okay, random pics!

Whee, a 0.50 cal Heavy Machine Gun!

Whee, an AH-64 Apache!

Whee, a field laundry, the thing on the left is the dryer, the thing on the right is the washing machine!

Whee, a mobile field toilet!

Whee, Jiada!

Hi all!
For all those who are still wondering how Jeremy broke the Fishtank glass door, this is how he did it.
Step 1. Find and steal an AH64-Apache

Step 2a. Fire a AGM-114 Hellfire Missile

Step 2b. Note the missing 4th Hellfire Missile

Step 3. Land the Apache and celebrate with co-conspirators (Jeremy is still in the Apache)

Step 4. Escape in a CH-47 Chinook. (Benjamin got left behind)

The Aftermath!
